Caring can be overwhelming, especially when you don’t know who to turn to. Understanding who can help — whether it’s a GP, a social worker, an occupational therapist, or a local support service — means you’re not doing it all alone. It helps you get the right advice,
avoid burnout, and make sure your loved one gets the best care possible.
About the Author
This resource was created by Monica Iofciu, a UK-registered Occupational Therapist with over 8 years of OT experience and 9 years of professional carer experience.
Monica has also looked after her own mother during her cancer journey until she passed away, so she understands what family carers like you deal with daily.
Monica founded Handlewell Academy to give carers trustworthy, step-by-step, practical guidance - without jargon, overwhelm, or pressure.
